Speed Pitching

Friday 15th October. 6.30 pm Baycourt Durham Street Tauranga

Dare you enter the dragons’ den?

Twelve writing wannabes pitch their writing project to a panel composed of

a creative writing tutor, a screenwriter and producer, and a literary expert.

Speed Pitching is hosted by Tauranga Writers and chaired by Maori columnist, writer and literary entrepreneur Tommy ‘Kapai’ Wilson.

The panel of experts include Sue Emms, novelist, and Lead Tutor on the Waiariki Institute of Technology’s online Diploma in Creative Writing; Joanne Rye-McGregor, who is a film director, producer and scriptwriter, and Dr. Mark Houlahan, who teaches in the English programme of The School of Arts at the University of Waikato, and is a columnist, reviewer and obsessive book reader and buyer. Maggie Tarver, Director of the New Zealand Society of Authors, will discuss how the Society helps writers while audience votes are counted and the winner can be named.
