DESCRIPTION:Creating Convincing Characters | Anne Cleary\nWhat makes a well-rounded\, believable character who your readers will love to love (or to hate!)? Come along and hear some tips\, tricks\, and techniques to make your characters pop off the page. \nAnne writes novels and short stories and is keenly interested in the intricacies of human character and what makes people tick. She has won numerous competitions and features in magazines and anthologies\, including Mindfood\, Seven Deadly Sins\, Guilty Pleasures and The Four Seasons Project. \nIn 2017\, Anne won the Franklin Writers’ National Short Story Competition\, and in 2021 came second as well as Highly Commended. She was awarded second place in the 2022 Short Stories Unlimited (Australian) competition and Highly Commended in the 2022 Graeme Lay Short Story Comp. \nA committee member of Tauranga Writers\, Anne also compiles the weekly newsletter Writing Matters. \nSunday\, 17th September 2023\, 2:00-4:00 pm\nGreerton Library \n$15 ($10 for Tauranga Writers members) \nCash only please\, as EFTPOS is not available at these meetings. \nFor information about Tauranga Writers see our website\, join our Facebook page\, or contact taurangawritersnz@gmail.com.\nSunday Focus Sessions are usually held every third Sunday (except for this one in October) in the Heremanuhiri Room at Greerton Library from 2-4pm.\nWork in Progress meetings are held on the first Thursday at the Wesley Methodist Church on 13th Avenue from 7-9pm.
