DESCRIPTION:Creating Convincing Characters | Anne Cleary\nWhat makes a well-rounded\, believable character who your readers will love to love (or to hate!)? Come along and hear some tips\, tricks\, and techniques to make your characters pop off the page. \nAnne writes novels and short stories and is keenly interested in the intricacies of human character and what makes people tick. She has won numerous competitions and features in magazines and anthologies\, including Mindfood\, Seven Deadly Sins\, Guilty Pleasures and The Four Seasons Project. \nIn 2017\, Anne won the Franklin Writers’ National Short Story Competition\, and in 2021 came second as well as Highly Commended. Fi B presented NPD 2024 last year in Tauranga City Library as a combination of workshop and poetry readings. She is working her magic there again this year. \nJenny Argante has been a creative writing tutor and a professional editor for over 40 years. Working in the Cracks Between was published by Oceanbooks\, and in March 2025\, Red Hen Books will publish a collection of poems on flight\, both literal and metaphorical. Her work has appeared in Takahe\, Poetry NZ\, North and South\, and Landfall. \nAs a forerunner to National Poetry Day 2024\, writers Fi Be Sullivan and Jenny Argante are combining forces to share their experiences of writing\, reading and performing poetry.
