A monthly presentation or workshop conducted by an award-winning local writer focusing on
a topic relating to creative writing or being an indie author. General public $10; Tauranga
Writers financial members $5. Sessions involve a practical component and Q&A.

Sunday 21 February – Literary Goal Setting
LEE MURRAY, multi-award-winning author, kicks off the year with a hands-on workshop on literary planning. You’ll be offered practical planning tools to help jumpstart your literary year.
Sunday 21 March – Book printing and design
JANE GRACE, graphic designer and account manager for Printing.com, offers a two-part workshop with insights on book printing & developing a stunning cover design that will attract readers. Essential for both self-published and traditionally published writers.
Sunday 18 April – Haiuku Workshop
JENNY FRASER, Papamoa poet, joins us to discuss the elements of haiku and senryu in this engaging practical workshop. Ideal for emerging and established poets, and writers wishing to tighten their prose.
Sunday 16 May – Creative Arts in the BoP
ERIC HOLOWACZ, Local CBOP director, presents an overview of the breadth and diversity of our Bay of Plenty arts, culture, and heritage scene, including information on local creative and professional development opportunities.
Sunday 20 June – Worldbuilding: a panel discussion
Join our expert panel of speculative writers as they discuss how they create plausible engaging worlds for readers of all ages. Moderated by SpecFicNZ president Grace Bridges, with panelists, Karen Cossey, Sharon Manssen, and Jean Gilbert.
